Planting & Care

1. Planting: Plant your Giant Fuyu in partial shade (4 hours of sunlight daily) and well-draining soil.

Dig a hole that is twice as wide but only as deep as the root ball, place your tree, backfill the soil, and water the surrounding soil. Finally, mulch the surrounding soil to conserve moisture.

2. Watering: Water weekly during the establishment period, but do not overwater. This tree is drought tolerant, however, and will not need additional watering after it is established. If you’re not sure when to water, simply check your surrounding soil about 3 inches down – if the soil is dry, it’s time to water.

3. Pruning: Prune during the dormant season into an open vase shape to promote healthy growth. You can also prune to a single leader if overproduction occurs.
